Manusina Samoa must regroup after heavy defeat in WC opener

Updated 4 August 2014, 8:12 AEST

At the Women's Rugby World Cup in France, Manusina Samoa have to pick themselves up after suffering a heavy defeat to England in their opening pool match.

The English won by 65 points to 3, giving the Samoans plenty to think about before their next match against Canada on Wednesday morning, Apia time.

And they'll have to manage without their full-back Soteria Pulumu, who has been suspended for the rest of the tournament.

Team captain Cynthia Taala says there was a lot learned, despite the huge loss.
