Marshallese weightlifters head for Oceania Championships

Young weightlifters from the Marshall Islands are on their way to Brisbane, Australia, to flex their muscles at the Oceania Weightlifting Championships later this week.

The Marshallese competitors are all in their teens and are expected to figure well in the Championships.

Editor of the Marshall Islands Journal Giff Johnson told Geraldine Coutts that the development of the young weightlifters is unprecedented for the Marshall Islands.
