Melbourne protest supports independence for French Polynesia

A small protest took place outside the French Consulate in the Australian city of Melbourne today to raise awareness of Nuclear Free and Independent Pacific Day.

March The First marks the anniversary of the US 'Bravo' nuclear bomb detonation at Bikini Atoll in 1954.

Nuclear Free and Independent Pacific activist Sina Brown-Davis told Louisa Wright that French Polynesia needs to be put on the UN list of territories that should be decolonised.
