Multi-million dollar Kiribati water and sanitation project

The government of Kiribati has joined forces with the European Union and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community in a multi-million dollar deal that is designed to increase access to safe water and sanitation for 35 villages in the Gilbert group.

The deal is worth an estimated 3.3 million euros, that's around A$4.75 million.

Andrew Jacobs, the EU Ambassador for the Pacific, says a project like this is vital for the area.
