New Australian law targets illegal logging

New Australian law targets illegal logging

The Australian Parliament has passed a bill aimed at stopping the importation illegally logged timber.

Importers will have to prove the logs they bring into Australia were logged legally, or face penalties.

But some exporters say the costs of implementing the requirements of the new law will be too high for some companies to bear.
