New Ireland another PNG Province seeking more autonomy

New Ireland another PNG Province seeking more autonomy

New Ireland Province in Papua New Guinea has taken the first major step towards gaining autonomy.

The provincial government's submission for autonomy is now with PNG's national Executive Council for consideration.

It's believed that a decision on the matter will be made in middle of this year.

The Chairman of New Ireland's Autonomy Committee, Sir Noel Levi, explained the matter to John Papik.
