New Women's Centre opens in Fiji

A new Womens Resource Centre in Mau village in Fiji, will boost economic opportunites and promote independent livelihood.

Thirty thousand dollars have been invested into the centre by the Ministry of Social Welfare and Women and Poverty Alleviation.

The opening of the Centre comes as women and youths from Mau village gear up for a two week training course in seaweed cultivation, processing and marketing strategies.

Shamima Ali is the Executive Director of the Fiji Womens Crisis Centre and she says the new centre is one of many being set up around Fiji.
