NGOs call on Australia to run a parallel G20 civil society meeting

Australian government is being urged to use its Chairmanship of the G20 group of countries, next year, to bring development issues into the global discussion.

The G20 leaders will meet in Brisbane in November 2014.

The Australian Council for Overseas Aid, the peak organisation for Non-government aid agencies, is calling on the Australian government to hold an official parallel C20 meeting for civil society organiastions.

ACFID's, Joy Kyriacou, told Jemima Garrett the G20 is a powerful grouping that needs to hear the voices of civil society.
