NZ Navy museum needs Pacific help to identify historic photos

Updated 27 December 2013, 17:40 AEST

The Royal New Zealand Navy Museum is asking for help from the Pacific to identify people and places from a collection of photographs of the region from 60 years ago.

The collection of glass plate negatives by photographer Tudor Collins depict tours of the islands by two New Zealand warships in the late 1940s and 50s.

But they don't have any labels, so it's hard for the museum to know exactly what they show.

Presenter: Bruce Hill

Speaker: Paul Restall, Royal New Zealand Navy Museum's photographic archivist
