NZ Pacific Ministry is safe says government MP

Claims that New Zealand's government is cutting it's budget for the Ministry of Pacific island Affairs have been disputed by a government MP.

Su'a William Sio, spokesman on Pacific Island Affairs for the opposition Labor Party says cuts to the Ministry of Pacific Island Affairs funding will hurt Pacific people already suffering high unemployment, low incomes and growing inequality.

But Maungakiekie MP Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga, from the ruling National party, tells Bruce Hill that Mr Sio has got his sums wrong
