NZ Paralympic swimmer collects New Year honour

New Zealand Paralympic swimmer Mary Fisher has been invested with an Order of Merit for her results at last year's London Paralympics.

Mary - who is blind - won a gold medal in a world record time, as well as two silvers and a bronze, at her Paralympics debut.

The award was announced in the New Years Day Honours list and she was presented with the award at a ceremony at Government House in Wellington this week.
