Oceania athletics underway in Samoa

The Oceania Athletics Championships are underway in Cook Islands, the last major Pacific event before the region's best athletes turn their attention to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow next month.

The championships are being held in Tereora, on the Island of Rarotonga.

Oceania Athletics Association executive director Yvonne Mullins says though it was a great first day day of competition, the weather was less than desirable.
