Pacific garbage clean up viable says engineer

You may have heard of the giant pile of rubbish in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, known as the Great Pacific Garbage Vortex.

A young engineer says he's come up with a way of cleaning up the vortex and removing more than seven million tons of plastic waste.

Doubts have been raised about just how effective 19-year-old Boyan Slat's design will be but he says a feasibility study has proved his Ocean Clean Up project is viable.
