Iwaki city in Japan's Fukushima region was one of the worst hit areas from the 2011 earthquake and tsunami disaster.

Over the weekend, Pacific Islanders from the area and across Japan were invited to the city's "Sunshine Festa" to perform alongside Japanese artists to show their support for the reconstruction process.

Peseti Vea lives in Iwaki city and was one of the Tongan representatives.

He says it was a great opprtunity for Pacific Islanders to showcase their culture and build bridges between the Pacific and Japan.

Presenter: Richard Ewart
