Palau escapes the worst of Typhoon Bopha

Updated 3 December 2012, 9:45 AEST

The main centre of Palau has escaped the full fury of Typhoon Bopha's 250 kilometre an hour winds.

The highest winds in Koror reached 70 miles an hour, but the southern outer islands were not so lucky.

The winds were much stronger and rain has been bucketing down.
