Peacebuilding course offered to Pacific women

Updated 20 November 2012, 10:26 AEST

A group of women from across the Pacific are being given the rare opportunity to study peacebuilding at the same university where Liberian politician Leymah Gboowee trained before receiving the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize.

Sixteen Pacific women will be selected to study at the Centre for Justice and Peacebuilding at the Eastern Mennonite University in Virginia.

Already four Pacific women are enrolled in the course.
