Rugby league fans in Papua New Guinea and many other parts of the Pacific are revelling in the PNG Hunters' spectacular start to their debut season in Australian competition.

Their record stands at played two, won two, with an away win over highly fancied Redcliffe, followed by a victory on home soil against the reigning Queensland Cup premiers, Mackay.

Hunters' supporter Isaac Namaliu from East New Britain was one of those who braved the pouring rain in Kokopo at the weekend, and he says it was great to see the talent of the PNG players really shine.
