PNG National Court stays Judicial Conduct Act

Updated 30 April 2012, 17:05 AEST

Papua New Guinea's National court has stayed a Judicial Conduct Act which the Peter O'Neill government had rushed through parliament using its numerical strength.

The legislation was aimed at nullifying last December's supreme court ruling which nullified Prime Minister's election as unconstitutional.

The court says the law will not be implemented until a ruling is made on a case challenging it.
