PNG PM on gas, controlling the Kina and no confidence motions

Updated 5 June 2014, 17:15 AEST

Papua New Guinea's Prime Minister Peter O'Neill has just returned from a trip to Japan.

Mr O'Neill was there to witness the first tank of liquefied natural gas to arrive in Tokyo but while he was away interesting issues have been discussed at home.

The first are moves to control the Kina and the second is a proposal to change the rules around votes of no confidence.

After touching down back home he gave a press conference addressing all those issues.

Our PNG correspondent Liam Cochrane was there.
