Updated 6 December 2012, 10:37 AEDT

The anti-corruption watchdog Transparency International has been angered by the failure of the Speaker of the Papua New Guinea Parliament to attend a function to try to make politics more transparent and open.

An agreement establishing the 'Open Parliament Project' to be funded by the European Union was supposed to be signed this week but no one from the Office of the Speaker turned up.

Presenter: Firmin Nanol

Speakers: Emily George Taule, executive director, Transparency PNG; Ambassador Martin Dihm, head, EU Delegation to Papua New Guinea; John Toguata, director, Transparency PNG
