PNG's Mount Tavurvur roars back to life

Updated 23 January 2013, 9:00 AEDT

Mount Tavurvur has roared back into life in the Papua New Guinea province of East New Britain.

At the weekend, it began rumbling and spewing plumes of white ash 500 metres into the sky.

The ash has kept on coming, forcing flights to the area to be suspended indefinitely.
