Potential in PNG, but a Pacific Commonwealth Games still unlikely

With a question mark hanging over the Commonwealth Games after 2018, could there be an opportunity for the Pacific to host the event?

Perry Crosswhite, the chief executive of Australia's Commonwealth Games Association, has mooted the idea of a joint bid from two of the bigger Pacific nations.

But the Executive Director of the Pacific Games Council, Andrew Minogue, says the region's best hope probably lies with Papua New Guinea, as it prepares to host the Pacific Games next year.
