Over the weekend it was confirmed that a number of West Papuan asylum seekers, were transferred from Australia's Torres Strait to Papua New Guinea for processing.

The group was apparently involved in a ceremony off the coast of the Indonesian Province which involved the Freedom Flotilla - a protest group that made its way from Lake Eyre in South Australia, by land and sea to the Province.

It's been reported the group was seeking asylum in Australia to escape persecution from Indonesian authorities.
