A report commissioned by Oxfam outlines the social implications of the LNG project in Papua New Guinea.

While it addresses the project's achievements in social change, it also warns of continuing major concerns that need to be addressed..

The report, 'The Community Good - Examining the Influence of the PNG LNG Project in the Hela Region of Papua New Guinea', is being launched today in Canberra by the parliamentary secretary for Pacific Island Affairs, Richard Marles.

One of the report's authors, Dr James McIlraith from the National Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies at University of Otago, spoke to Pacific Beat about his concerns for the project.
