Reporter feared for his children's lives in Port Moresby traffic incident

Road safety in Papua New Guinea suffers from a "me first" mentality, according to one of our Port Moresby reporters.

Firmin Nanol says this was brought home to him a few days ago when he and his children were nearly killed when a driver overtook them at high speed at the Eight Mile turnoff.

He says the driver of the other vehicle was driving so fast he spun around several times, nearly slamming into a crowd at the side of the road, who then dragged him out and beat him.

Firmin Nanol explains to Bruce Hill what happened.
