Samoa hit by Cyclone Evan and American Samoa preparing for it

Cyclone Evan has made landfall in Samoa close to the capital Apia.

Weather services around the region have been watching the storm which has been rated as category two.

Samoa's disaster management plan has been put in place, while people have been warned to take shelter, and stay away from the coast.

Evan has been forecast to eventually head towards Fiji

But right now American Samoa is also preparing to be hit hard.
