Samoan Swin Series to encourage more to take up swimming

Updated 4 September 2013, 8:50 AEST

A Samoan man is attempting to bring Samoa's under-used $35million Tuanaimato Pool Complex back to life.

The Pool facility has been under-used partly due to the fact that more than 95 per cent of Samoans do not know how to swim.

But Seti Afoa has been determined to change the relationship Samoans have with swimming.

He set up a series of swimming contests in Samoa last month including Samoa's first triathlon, and more are planned.
