Scientists find early El Nino warning

Updated 8 July 2013, 9:27 AEST

Good news for the Pacific: scientists are claiming they can predict an El Nino weather event 12 months in advance.

This, they claim, will help farmers and governments prepare in advance which they hope will lessen the impact of the weather event.

One of the researchers on this project is Professor Armin Bunde at the University of Giessen in Germany.
