A new report says sharks numbers and sizes are in decline - a result of the world's taste for shark fin soup.

The soup is considered a delicacy - particularly in Asia.

But the targetting killing of sharks is driving numbers down - with sharks often killed just for their fins, and then thrown back in the sea to die.

Dr Shelley Clarke is one of the authors of that report, which was published in the journal "Conservation Biology".

She explained its finding to Campbell Cooney
