Socceroos cling to Asian Cup hopes after draw against North Korea

Updated 6 December 2012, 10:19 AEST

The Socceroos are still in the hunt for berth in next year's East Asian Cup with a 1-1 draw with North Korea in Hong Kong last night.

The Socceroos are among five teams vying for the final spot in the tournament, which will be held in South Korea next July.

The Australians claimed a one-all draw in its opening game against Hong Kong on Monday night, while North Korea easily won its first two matches.

To get there the Socceroos are faced with having to better North Korea's superior goal difference in their final two matches.
