Sovereignty an issue as Fiji and PNG militaries move closer - Singriok

Fiji's interim government and the PNG government are moving closer to a joint military peacekeeping agreement .

Fiji has approved a defense cooperation between the Fiji Military and the Papua New Guinea Military.

Former commander of the PNGCF Major General Jerry Singriok opposes the idea .

General Singriok was responsible for employing foreign mercenaries during the Bougainville crisis in the 1990s and is concerned that PNG mainitain its sovereignty and chain of command.
