Spreading the message on good health through cricket in Fiji

The Women's Island Cricket Programme in Fiji continues to grow, with the second project being launched at Wailevu in the Macuata district.

The first official session will be held in the village today and 25 women have already signed up.

The project ties in cricket with awareness of non-communicable diseases, so it's a mix of practical cricket sessions to target fitness coupled with advocacy sessions on nutrition, and on tobacco and alcohol use.

Cricket Fiji general manager Inoke Lesuma says the second project will build on the success of the first.
