SPREP tracking medical waste across the Pacific

Medical waste is a potentially hazardous problem in Pacific nations and costly to deal with.

The Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Envirnmental Programme is conducting a study to find out just how big the problem is and how best to deal with it.

Co-ordinating the research is Jade Tavane, the Hazardous Waste Project officer at SPREP, she oversees the removal of medical waste which poses a great threat to Pacific health and environment.
