State of the world's wetlands being investigated

State of the world's wetlands being investigated

Signatories to the RAMSAR Convention on Wetlands are meeting in Bucharest, Romania this week.

The delegates are in Bucharest to assess the progress of the Convention and the sustainable use of wetlands. The theme for the conference is "Wetlands: home and destination". And the RAMSAR convention is an intergovernmental treaty that encourages its member countries to maintain the ecological character of their Wetlands.
