Talks claimed to be close to settling Honiara water dispute

A dispute between the land trustees of Kongulai in Guadalcanal and the Solomon Islands government is threatening Honiara's water supply.

The land trustees say they are owed $800,00 US dollars ($6 million Solomons.)

And they say they will turn off the city's water supply if most of the money is not paid by Wednesday.

But the permanant secretary to the Ministry of Lands, Stanley Waleanisia, says Honiara's water won't be cut.
