Taskforce set up in American Samoa for tuna canneries

In American Samoa, a taskforce is investigating the major issues which pose possible threats to their tuna canneries.

The Governor Lolo Moliga has previously said that American Samoa's canneries are essential to its economic survival -- but there are growing concerns that external factors will have detrimental impacts on the industry.

Journalist Monica Miller says the group which is made up of government and private sector representatives was set up after last month's Western and Central Pacific Fisheries meeting - that's been widely described as a failure.
