Telephone helpline to try to cut gender violence in Solomon Islands

Solomon Islands has set out to tackle violence against women and children by establishing a special helpline.

The Ministry of Health says 64 per cent of women have been physically or sexually abused while 37 per cent of girls under the age of 15 have experienced sexual abuse.
