A culture of violence in Tongan schools is being partly blamed for a recent incident which saw 147 pupils and ex-pupils from two rival high schools arrested and one young man in hospital in a critical condition.

Tonga College students were reportedly attacked on Friday by students of Tupou College.

Inter-school rivalries leading to violence have long been a feature of Tongan life.

The Kingdom's Police Commissioner, Grant O'Fee, tells Bruce Hill what happened in the latest incident.
