Training to help cultural industries protect their intellectual property rights

Law enforcement officers in Fiji are learning about intellectual property rights and how they apply to local culture.

The workshop is being hosted by the Fijian government, the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community.

Pita Niubalavu, SPC's Regional Intellectual Property Specialist, hopes the classes will protect and strengthen cultural industries in Pacific economies.
