UNHCR pulls out of PNG

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is pulling out of Papua New Guinea citing financial difficulties in looking after refugees from the Indonesian province of Papua.

It has signed an agreement formalising its transition of powers to the PNG government to look after and protect the refugees.
