Vanuatu to offer 'honourary citizenship' to raise Cyclone Pam relief funds

Vanuatu's government is aiming to raise more than $US10 million for selling "honourary citizenship" in an attempt to raise much needed funds for recovery efforts post Cyclone Pam.

But the notion of selling Vanuatu passports is a controversial one after the previous Capital Investment Immigration Plan failed miserably to earn the projected funds.
