Women NGO leaders in Fiji re-thinking development goals post 2015

Updated 30 April 2014, 9:19 AEST

Women leaders from non-government organisations in Fiji have got together to consider how a better future can be achieved, free from gender injustice, non-communicable diseases and political upheaval.

The discussions have centred on how women can influence post 2015 development, once the target time for Millennium Development Goals expires next year.

Speaking at two-day forum in Suva, the Executive Director of PIANGO, the Pacific Islands Association of Non-Governmental Organisations, Emele Duituturaga said development should not erode Pacific cultural values and traditions.

Presenter: Richard Ewart
