Women's ambassadors vows to act for all

Australia's Ambassador for Women and Girls Natasha Stott Despoja says she will use her position to help improve gender equality at home and overseas.

Ms Stott Despoja is a former Democrats senator in the Australian parliament and was also the party's leader before retiring from politics. She was appointed as women's ambassador last year, and has already visited Solomon Islands, Nauru and Vanuatu. On the eve of international women's day she has vowed to work for the women and children asylum seekers the Australian government has in detention on Manus Island and in Nauru.
