The chosen theme of the Forum in Cook islands is 'the ocean' - rather than refer to themselves as small island states the member states want to be known as large ocean island nations because of their extensive exclusive economic zones.

Attending the forum as an observer is Marea Hatziolos, a senior coastal and marine specialist at the World Bank, who says the bank is working on many adaption to climate change projects.
