Vanuatu's ministry of health says it's confirmed several cases of Zika virus and Dengue fever.

Both are mosquito-borne and exhibit similar symptoms of fever and joint pains.

It's the first time Zika cases have been recorded in Vanuatu, but the head of the World Health Organisation's branch in Port Vila, Dr Jacob Kool, says that may be because little has been known about the virus until recently.
