Join us this week on Pacific Break as we meet Lea Rumwaropen, lead vocalist from West Papuan band, Tabura. Namila Benson finds out how culture, family and politics have helped shape Lea's music and life.

Lea Rumwaropen from Melbourne based from West Papuan band, Tabura talks about being raised on the sounds of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pavarotti, African and Egyptian music and how her father’s diverse music taste shaped her appreciation for all musical genres.

We’ve got Samoan artist, Eric Va’a, telling us that despite the hard knocks of life, we’ve got to “Keep Rollin”.

We head to Fiji for the mellow tones of Ren Slatter on the track, “Great Escape”.

And for our ‘Klassic Kona’, we do a throwback to the 80s to hear some vintage funk out of West Papua as we hear from Lea’s late father’s iconic Melanesian band, Black Brothers, with their fabulous track, “Huembelo”.
