Indonesian police want to question a housemaid over the suspected theft of almost $US2 million worth of goods from her employer's home.

The home owner says the maid only worked for two days before she disappeared from the home in Bogor, south of Jakarta.

Police say the missing goods include nearly $10,000 in cash, gold bars, gold coins, luxury watches and other jewellery.

The home belongs to a 67-year-old Canadian antiques collector and retired businessman, and his wife.

Police say other employees in the house had been questioned, but so far police have no clue about the suspect's whereabouts.
