Domestic rice harvest good: Indonesia

Indonesia's government says it expects to produce enough rice to cover domestic need this year.

The Trade Minister says Indonesia has more than enough stocks, with harvests expected to be better than usual.

The comments come as Indonesia issued a new ruling allowing exports for the first time, once the country's surplus tops three million tonnes.

Rocketing global prices, and moves by many rice exporting countries to limit supplies, have created shortages around the world, sparking protests.
