Olympic torch relay ends in South Korea
Updated
The latest leg of the Olympic Torch relay has ended in South Korea with Chinese supporters again outnumbering protestors.
North Asia Correspondent Shane McLeod reports that the torch spent much of its journey through the streets of Seoul in the middle of a swarm of jogging police officers.
They were part of a contingent of around 8,000 officers mobilised for the security effort.
There were clashes between flag waving pro-China supporters - many of them students - and a group of demonstrators protesting against China's forced repatriation of North Korean defectors.
One man reportedly tried to set himself on fire during the protests but was stopped by police.
On Sunday evening the Olympic flame left for North Korea, which will host the torch relay for the first time.
Separate flame arrives at Mount Everest
A special Olympic flame has arrived at the base camp of Mount Everest.
The Mount Everest flame is a separate one to the torch that toured South Korea on Sunday.
A team of climbers is expected to begin taking the flame up Mount Everest early next month, aiming to get to the top in mid-May.
