The government of Gaston Tong Sang has sent its proposed five-year, $US700 million projects plan to the French Polynesian Assembly.

President Tong Sang and several of his 15 ministers will travel to Paris this month to obtain French approval signatures for the proposed plan so that budgeted work can begin this year.

The plan, which will cover development until 2013 includes provisions for welfare housing, public health, public works and higher education and research.
